kind of turbo is on early 99 PSD f350 was just wonderin cause i was lookin at mine today and just was curious and 99.5 and later if anyone know would appreciate thanks
I swapped mine to a stock 99.5 and added the wicked wheel..I run 100 to 150 degree cooler on the EGT's now and i have no surge what so ever.even with red line un hooked.even though an update was needed and I would get more power by doing the HPOP I'm very glad I swapped over..now i can hold it to floor a lot longer...
ok so the next question is are the 99.5 and later that much better as far as higher boost it obviously has more air flow and are they easy to interchange? will it fit right in place of the smaller one or will there be a problem with it fitting nicely in the same spot?

you dont build any more boost..you still only get 25 to 27lb. it moves the power rang up a little..meaning i lost a little low end power but gaind a little more on top..i also run 100 to 150 cooler on EGT's..if you want more SOP power..swap out the HPOP to a 2000 and up...as far as swapping turbo's you need the up pipes, babies butt, turbo, pedistal, spider pipe and intake plenums..pix in my view of a 7.3 shows you the parts...i got all my parts from a donor truck to do my swap..but Bob has a kit here to do this as well http://www.dieselsite.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=276

If you have a early 99 and looking for an upgrade our Dominator 66 fits the bill very well. It will flow more air for better peformance and at the same time bring down egts nicely. Its a heck of alot easier then changing all the stuff to go to a late model setup.
