Hey I was just wondering if the turbo that the e99 had was the same one as ours?
IIRC it is and that is why the spyder and intercooler setup works on our trucks.
Side note:
Weren't the major changes in the 99 was the 120cc injectors.. the intercooler.. and of course the body style?

The E99 turbo is close, but not quite the same. They have the same compressor wheel and compressor housing, but the turbine housing is smaller, IIRC, turbine housing uses a V-band flange, not like ours, and the E99 turbo is wastegated, ours are not wastegated.
Yup, that's right... same compressor stuff. An e99 spider should even swap into your trucks for intercooled setups. The difference is the turbine side. It's bigger on the OBS trucks and also uses a T3 (or T-style flange) instead of the v-band clamp flange that's on the e99 trucks. The turbine housings are considerably smaller, .84AR vs 1.15AR (somewhere in the ballpark, don't quote me). The OBS trucks also bolt the turbo down to the pedestal with 4 bolts coming up from the bottom of the pedestal rather than two bolts down from the top into the pedestal. Oh, and the use the same O-rings if that counts!
What Travis said, plus the E99 turbo mounts differently. 2 bolts through the TOP of the center section to the pedestal, so you can remove the turbo w/o removing the pedestal. I'd like to get my paws on an E99 turbo and pedestal and make a "hybrid" using the E99 center section and pedestal and OBS exhaust housing.
Now that's a good idea... at first, I hated the flange for getting the danged thing off, but I like it better as far as putting the turbo back in. But, I can take the turbo off without the pedestal with a bowl delete... all for can be reached from under the pedestal when the fuel pump isn't in the valley.
So could you take an e99 turbo and get a different pedastal and be good to go?
not changing the up-pipes or anything else?
Reason I ask is this guy has a complete e99 engine..harnesses injectors..turbo... and an intercooler with the spyder. No pipes.
But he is sellin it and im payin him $200.
Was gunna sell the e99 and offer it up to you guys first.

To use the E99 turbo on the OBS, you'd need to change the exhaust housing and pedistal. That should be all.
Hit me up if Chase doesn't want the spyder. I don't want to steal it from him, but if he doesn't want it let me know. I am going Thursday night to bring home another parts truck and it happens to have a 6.0 IC hanging behind the grill! No pipes, no motor (no spyder) but I am one step closer to having a full setup.

Have at it Nate, you're not "stealing" anything from me. Props to rich for looking out for me but my IC install is still on the back burner right now.

If yours is on the back burner, mine isn't even on the stove, lol. With stock sticks, stock turbo and mechanical fuel I don't even have a need for it yet. Just trying to stockpile the parts when I come across them. If you want it go for it! If you don't I might be interested depending on the price. I thought about just butchering up the stock spyder and making my own too, but the E99 makes for a nice clean install.
