Drag racing gone good.....

I went out tonight with the intention of lining up with someone. I find 2 duramaxs driving together and they started slowing down for a light. hehe Well I flat out smoke one of them who I later found was running edge programming and the other got me at another light cuz I couldn't hook up my rear tires on that light, plus was running PPE stuff he said, both autos. Well they pull into a store parking lot and seem cool, it was 2 kids my age and they ask what I've done to my truck. I tell them some stuff them they ask if I want to be in a local diesel club..... alright someone else has my same hobby cool. I'm looking forward to seeing some of these guys trucks cuz they mentioned a few nice trucks with stacks and lifts around town including this guy (click here). Anyways enought with my ranting but I was very pround to see my 11 year old truck hanging with these modded 05-06 dmaxs. Oh they had to look in my truck when I said it was a manual

Ya he has a 6" lift on 35s. It was set on high and he power braked to get boost. He also said he has 4.1 gearing and the exhaust was cut off at the down pipe. Its an 04. The 07 truck with PPE said he will run a 14 sec 1/4 so and he is on stock tires. Like I said both are autos and I cannot believe I kept up with them.

This club is a member of the diesel hod rod association and they have a cool shop and pool table. Next weekend they are goin to the drag strip hehe I hope I can make it.

Like I said both are autos and I cannot believe I kept up with them.
Me either. I was able to keep up with one on tow/economy setting in my mustang until we hit 80. After that he started to pull away. Had he been on a higher setting, well, there would be no point in trying. He was running triple dog.

Although edge does suck, I would figure that tow/economy on bully dog would at least be equal to the top setting on edge.

Duramaxes are very fast. I wouldn't ever attempt to drag race on with a manual ford. You couldn't shift a zf fast enough to keep up with the allison. At least I know there is no possible way I could. It is a truck transmission. It was hard enough to shift a car like my mustang fast enough.

But it can happen. I was able to beat a LS1 once in my mustang. New driver evidently as they bogged it off the line. Had they have launched correctly, they would be in 4th gear before I was in 3rd and about 10 car lengths. I know that from experience, so I won't go around saying I can beat LS1's...

oh my, somenbody needs to give you speedshifting lessons, i can shift a t-5 like an auto, and you should see me in a zf-6, i have made jaws drop, especially on the low-1st shift....lol my stang ate ls-1's all the time, actually there wasnt too much on the raod that could hurt that car although it did happen occasionally

i have heard that edge is much more impressive on the duracraps then the powerstrokes, a guy at work has one and he said its night and day compared to the banks and bullydog, however the edge is always breaking and the tranny doesnt feel good on it, he is gonna try to get his money back since he has owned the chip for a little over a year now and its only been on the truck for less then 2 months..... the resst of the time edge has had it.

Nice cOOn lol

I admit I got really lucky cuz I did mess up shifting once with they 07 and as soon as I did he pulled away. The 07 with PPE he said had a 300 something hp above stock?

But the 04 edge truck I beat with a few good shifts (only got to 4th) and holding the throttle about 1500rpms before I dumped the clutch. I beat him by 1 truck length to about 70mph.

Also talking with them I asked about egts and boost they both could reach, the 04 didnt have gauges and the 07 didnt ever really tell me. I told them that I could touch 1600* from 0-90 and their jaw droped saying their alum heads would melt off the motor at those temps

Anyways the old 7.3 is seeing 35psi daily on the stock turbo, its a good thing christmas is coming up. Santa needs to bring me a d66, 140v idm, 17* hpop, intercooler, mmmm the list goes on haha
