lol...i'd probably trade mine for an excursion...but nothing less...
I was looking at Excursions also when we had our first boy but unless you want the V10 and 7mpg ( if your lucky ) that goes with it, expect to dish out alot for a diesel model. ( plus they are getting harder to find )
We bought an Expedition and we wouldn't go back to anything smaller at all. With only 2 kids it can get really packed in there and seeing we do alot of highway driving, especially in the winter, I feel way more safe in the Expedition than I would some mini van. ( we drive thru Yorkton numerous times every year )
i had thought about an expedition too. what engine do you have, and what sort of mileage do you get smiggs??
I have the 5.4 and I range anywhere from 14 to 18 mpg. Anything over 110 km/h and the mileage is in the 12-15 range. If I keep it at 100 - 105 I get the better mileage. Also a tail wind is your best friend with these bricks, head winds are not.
We primarly use ours for highway driving and it sits in the garage the majority of the time so I'm not paying thru the ying yang in fuel all the time. I recommend getting one. It's always nice to have the extra room and we all too well what kind of winters we have in our area of eastern Sask/western Man and the shape the highways can be in.
Plus they are comfortable on those long drives. ( once the wife and kids are sleeping anyways )
i think the wind affects all our trucks the same way. i get better mileage with my s'crew, but it isn't 4x4. i wouldn't mind having a 4x4 s'crew for momma in the winter, but mine will be ko for the summer. she's dead set against a minivan, so thats out. i like those freestyles, but they are a bit out of my budget for a car!!

Yah, I looked a tons of S'crews before deciding on the Expy. We liked the fact that when traveling in the winter we don't have to worry about stuff freezing in the box and getting wet or covered with snow.
My truck had a tonneau cover but it's a PITA to take if off if I wanted to haul anything. I hate mini vans so that was never an option with me. When I'm 65 maybe.....naaaaaa Cobra or Vette.
I would never get a minivan either! for me it would be a supercab truck, possibly a crew cab, that or there is always a box on the truck, or a backseat in a mustang!
I here you!!! There will be no minivan for this guy! My wife also hates them, she really wants one of those new Edge's and probably would have got one if she hadn't wanted the camper worse!
Good stuff sherm vans are okay i really dont mind the parents van good for hauling people and cargo etc its there first van they always had cars till they bought the van
