Ok guys, this question might not be exactly right in this section of the forums but i figure i'll try anyways. First of all, my chilton book says that the f-250's and f-350's share the same spindles for the front. So, how long did they produce the straight axle trucks...in other words, can i steal hub parts from a 1976 f-250 and have them bolt up? my situation is that i'm looking to get rid of my dual wheels (the two piece wheels) and convert over to having regular wheels. So, i believe i can put f-250 hubs on to get away from those duallies. Now, my real question is this, the 1961-1966 models of f250 and f350 share the same spindle, how long did they continue to share that same spindle...67-72? or did they even take ti all the way to 1979? Will 1976 f-250 hubs bolt onto my '65 f-350 spindles without trouble? thanks guys, i'm sorry about my wording, i'm just not sure how to say it all briefly
I believe, don't take it as 100% correct, that the spindles can be swapped until 79 if the hubs don't. I did find that the wheel bearings are the same between 65-69. Once disc brakes become involved for the 76 then the bearings change. I don't know if that means anything though. If you looking to swap to disc brakes it will be a good time to do so though.

Not true prior to 1967:
Front spindle
1957/66 F350 = B7Y-3105-A
1957/64 F250 = B7C-3105-A (same as F100)
F350's thru 1966 have a 6 lug 7.25 bolt circle, while all F250's from 1957 thru 1996 have an 8 lug 6.50 bolt circle. F350 the same bolt pattern as F250 AFTER 1966.
how long did the f-250's use drum brakes? i'm looking to keep my drums, but just convert over to regular 8 lug wheels which would use f250 hubs. I have those 6 lug wheels now which i'm looking to do away with. did the f-250's use drums until '79, or did they do away with the drums when they changed to discs? numberdummy, what is the part number for the 65/66 f-250 spindles? are they the same as the f-350? i guess what im meaning to say is which 8 lug regular single rear wheel hub will bolt up to my '65 f-350 spindle?

Drum brakes used on F250's thru 1972...BUT discs were optional beginning in 1968. Discs became standard equipment in 1973 on F250/350 2WD's (4WD = 1976 F250 / 1979 F350).
The 1968/72 F250 optional discs were also used on F350's.
hey airharley,
i have a question, i found a 1970 f-250 with front drum brakes as a parts truck. we discussed earlier that the hubs on a 67-72 may bolt on, but if they don't, then the spindles could be swapped on truck from 65-69. do you think there is a difference from 69 and 70 that the spindles won't swap over?
I also found 59-60 trucks, would these hubs fit at all or they a whole other story?
