Repair/replace spindles on F250?

My wife and I are new owners of a 1970 F250 2WD Camper/Explorer Special and my first task is to do a front disc conversion among other steering improvements.
I picked the front end off of a 1976 F250 as a donor vehicle and got everything from the proportioning block to the radius arms and even the front sway bar.
I'm in the middle of preparing the parts and it turns out the donor spindles are a little worse for wear. The '76 has 1.05 kingpins so my '70 spindles wont exactly work.
It looks as if someone at some point destroyed a wheel bearing or two on the '76 spindles. Not only is the middle of the snout dinked, but the actual bearing mating surface is gouged up which allows the bearing cone to spin on the spindle.

Do the service manuals have tolerance limits for the spindles or does anyone know what they might be?
Can the spindles be turned to another common size bearing that is affordable and available?
Does anyone make replacement OEM spindles or even weld on snouts? I have been looking and even pick-a-part spindles are hard to find.
Thanks,
-Adam

Welcome to FTE!
Different spindles between single piston and dual piston caliper front ends. Which do you have?

F250

I have dual piston calipers from a 1976 F250. I'm actually rebuilding the calipers this weekend.

Thanks for the leads.. I found them and now only have to weigh the opportunity cost of having a local machine shop repair the ones I have vs. purchasing and having new ones shipped 2/3 the way across the country.

Gee whiz, you can't find these used dual piston caliper spindles locally? They're also the same as 1975 F350 from serial number W40,001 & 1976/79 F350.

There are at least two pick-a-part yards on Branford Street in Sun Valley, there's another in San Berdoo.

And btw: Dual piston caliper disc brakes were optional on 1968/72 F250 2WD & F350.

I'm 60 miles north of LA so 'locally' there is only one pick-a-part style JY and a bunch of salvage yards that either want a fortune for spindles [$350] or don't know WTF my parts gopher (wife) is asking for.
I'm almost a dozen spindles in to this now and so far all of them have been marginal at best. So $250 for old stock spindle isn't sounding too bad considering what I have already spent in time and money trying to track down two good spindles.

If all works out well for my first mail-order [$75 old stock] purchase I'll be down to just needing the right side spindle now.

I picked the 75-79 I-beam set-up for a number of reasons not limited to the fact that one was available for a good deal. The larger hardware was a consideration along with having the front sway bar and all of it's attachment hardware.

Live and learn.. I'm doing both..

It's almost time to select my pieces, paint, install and hope for the best.

Are the '76 radius arms the same length as '70 radius arms? There is conflicting info online and I just want to make sure if I use the '76 arms that my wheels won't be located further back in the wheel well...

I'd get some 600 or finer sand paper and clean up the bearing race resting areas.

And be sure to lube the inner bearing and the spindle bearing areas so the bearing won't cause any more gulling of those areas.
