I have a 2000 F250 7.3 liter superduty and I have noticed in the last few days that when I'm driving on the highway I hear a squealing/squeaking when I vear to the left. I can barely turn the steering wheel and I hear the sound. When I go right, there's nothing. Anyone ever heard of this? Thanks guys
Does the noise only happen when driving or can you duplicate it at idle? Is it 4wd or 2wd? Is it a constant noise like a whine, or an intermittent squeak like something needing to be greased?
Give us a little more info and I'm sure we can help.
It is a 4wd and it doesn't do it in idle, just when I'm driving. And it happens with the slightest turn of the wheel. It's also a pretty constant noise that sounds like a squeal almost, kind of like something could be rubbing, but as soon as the wheel straightens it's gone immediately.
Only reason I know, is cuz my buddy's 4x4 was doing the same thing. It was a bad squeal though, like strangling a cat every time he turned left. Driver side bearing was out.

I'm troubled empiretc, just how do you know what a cat being strangled sounds like.
So i've noticed that there is no noise at all when making a left turn, or when in idle and turning the wheel. There is only noise when traveling at highway speeds and when the wheel is slightly turned to the left like when following the curve of the highway. The noise immediately disappears when it's back straight or when it's turned farther left.
Just wanted to give a little more information in case you guys had any more ideas. I really appreciate all your feedback, so thanks.
