Hello everyone I have a 1967 bronco I am wanting to put a np435 off of a 351 m
I am not sure if it will work on my 302 or can I use my bellhouseing off of my 3 speed that is in there now. I know that there are 3 differant 351's the one that this came off is a 351 m , but the 351 w I think might work also. please let me know . Rick
The trans will bolt directly to your Bronco bellhousing, but your D20 transfercase will not. You can use a 205 case with no adapters. Or you can use a 2wd NP435 with a fixed rear yoke and an adapter from JBG for the D20.
Thank u that really helps the NP435 an d20 came out of a bronco so everything should work thank u fo your help . By the way there are a few people I know who have a NP435 an d 20 out of broncos an want to sell them I will past the info on to anyone who wants it just email me . Thank you again Rick
The case in the '80 is probably not a cast iron 205, but an aluminum 208. It is chain driven and pretty weak in my opinion. Also the narrow '67 frame will not allow the wide 208 to fit. You can fabricate a mount and modify the existing cross member to make the 205 work with the NP435. Though you may have to alter you drive line lengths because of the added length of the trans/transfercase.
Not sure of the mounting - but a 435/205 combo is a pretty wicked deal and should be able to tackle anything if the rest of the powertrain behind them is stout enough. The U-joints may be the weakest links.

Hey thank you for letting me know , what you mean the bronco has a 2.46:1 I know the 205 has a 2:1 I don't understand about the bronco having a 2.46:1. What will that make my bronco do . Rick
4drf350 - Not sure about the "Bronco" but there are other gears avail for the 205 t/c, some as low as 4:1. If you want brute force and torque, look up a local off-road shop. A lot of off-roaders are converting to a 205 and something else or another 205 behind that one in their full-size trucks. The same direct drive for highway + brute power for hard-core offfrrroading. Look into rock crawlers, or the 4x4 / off-road thread (forum).
