Okay guys, for those of you that have a falling pedal, grabby brakes etc......
"ZERO LOSS BRAKE BOOSTER"
I tried replacing the RABS module, no help.
I replaced the stock master with an F450 master (bigger bore) no help.
Thank the good lord for Tim Beggs!!! My brother in law told me about it, but Tim provided the motivation in the form of confindence that it would work, and a part #. THANK YOU TIM!!!!!!
For those of you that want this part, you have to go to Ford and order it by this specific # F5TZ-2005-CA It's called a zero loss booster. I paid $141 for it.
I don't know how in the hell it fixed the problem, or why. But it did. It makes no sense how a booster could cause this to happen (falling pedal, grabby brakes) But it did. This FIXED my problem.
So there it is, my conclusion to the brake booster question. I hope this helps all you that have posted threads on it. See ya on the boards.
Great to hear that it worked! I really don't see how it works either but I guess it does. Every single OBS truck I have driven (alot!) have done the failing brake pedal deal. On my 95 I replaced everything except the brake booster and brake lines to fix the problem and finally decided to live with it since they all did it. Now we have a fix that works! Thanks for the update Cody!
I have the problem too.
I replaced the calipers, "cylinder pistons", pads, shoes, and replaced the master cylinder.
I bled the brakes like you wouldn't believe.
I'll try this fix some day. Thanks for the heads-up.
So, on my '97 drag truck, when I was building boost for a launch, the pedal would eventually go all the way to the floor.
Would this booster have helped that?
