Well the long wait is over, here are the crash pictures! For those of you who don't know the story go and check the end of my Truck starts with a Cough post. I will recap here too. I was not hurt.
I just had a put a new fuel filter in and that ended most of my problems. The old was really clogged. Was driving to get the gunk out. Earlier in the drive hit a bump and knocked steering off. It was to pulling to the right. I was close to being back into town of this 16mi journey when I got caught up in either A. a backdraft from the semi had been following a long way, B. a bad crosswind common in New Ulm, or C. both. My right front passenger tire went into the gravel a bit, a nice easy pull back to what should have been normal driving was a overcorrection and I lost all contact with road swerved and was in the ditch sliding. Would have flipped if not I somehow did a 180 and slammed into the electrical pole. The only thing there was the field and electrical pole. I was okay and the police came promptly.
(The account in my earlier post mentioned above is better
You can see the accelerator is totally to the side and underneath the brake pedal
Also notice the sterring column at an angle!! The dash is crumpled and hood is totally torqued as well as the frame. I think the steering column is higher than it was due to the tow truck. Most of the trash came loose during the accident, I don't keep my truck that messy. The plastic wrap was under the seat but I pulled that out to try and find my cellphone.
A couple of inches or a foot and I probably wouldn't have my feet and/or legs right now. That or another foot and I probably wouldn't be here. But, hey, if I were in a saturn or import it would have been worse. So, kudos to Ford for building tough trucks that take a beating without giving you one! I never hit my head or steering wheel!!! My feet and knees were bruised very minorly by the pedals and bottom dash blowing down. The fuse panel popped off, which was really hard to get off normally. My sunglasses are missing a shade!!!! I don't know how I walked away.
God was watching over me.
yes, the dark spot about three feet to the left of where the hip SHOULD be IS the brake drum assembly...
yes, both wheels were ripped off the hub
yes, the rear axle was ripped out from under the truck
yes, it broke both springs doing it
yes, it bent the frame, ruptured both fuel tanks, split the diff carrier, diamond'd the box, tore the exhaust off, buckled the tailgate... bent the driveshaft, busted the transmission case, and ripped the crossmember from the frame.
5 hour trip to Elyria, Ohio to get the stuff under the tarp in the back of the bed, this happens five minutes from the house.
Drunk driver (off-duty cop) in a 2500HD sideswiped it.

O, I know quick, I was joking!!! The whole computer and wiring harness is gone, the frame is totally tweaked. The drivers side door is hopeless as is the hole steering. I can freely move the wheel without moving the wheels!! The engine from what I can see looks okay. But, popping the hood will take some doing, the hood release doesn't work, and the hood is jambed at that spot where the electrical pole hit. Radiator looks good too, but breaks and anything else on that side are probaby gone, well I know the breaks are. Its being held there by wheel chocks.
The police officer, tow truck driver, and two guys from the electrical company said they never have seen an electrical pole snap in two like that. Also, the police officer said he hasn't seen anyone walk away from an accident in the side and or front like that. He said there is usually head trauma and/or leg trauma. There was no airbag, its a 92, but I didn't need it and if it would have deployed it would have bruised me alot more. The original seat belts kept me in place and stopped me from hitting the wheel and window and this all with no lap belt bruise!!! I am pretty sure I was going a bit slower than 60-65 so by the time I hit the pole it had to be anywheres from 30-50mph.
