Don't know what Ford recomends but on Hub piloted wheels(which these are)three drops of oil where washer meets nut and should be torqued to enshure tightness.
It has been a month and a half and the dang thing is still sending fluid out. Is this still the lube oil or is there anything else that this could be? I could have sworn today that i heard it chirping today.
I use 2 drops of transmission fluid. It is a high temp fluid that can take extreme pressure that occurs at the high torque. The oil is applied only at the base of the nut between the washer and nut. Not on the rim.
If oil is still leaking after the start of this thread and wiping off hasn't solved it I would pull the wheel and look for other problems. I find it difficult to believe that it would still be leaking.
When I use 2 drops I never have any to wipe off after tightening.
