What's the difference between the 6 position TS chip and the DP. They both seem to have the same basic programs with the exception of the DP having more selections to choose from and only paying for the ones you want.
If both give you a 50hp, 75hp, etc. what could the difference be?
I'm looking to buy a chip and like the idea of being able to switch on the fly.
Anybody out there run both before? What makes one 50hp setting better than another?
Mmmm, let see...DP rocks! And the other doesn't! Sorry man, I haven't run a TS but have struggled through all those threads of those who have and made the switch. Do a search "DP Tuner". I take the "Over" on the vote for DP....Don't waste your time. Call Jody and be done with it.
I've ran Edge Evolution stacked with Edge EZ, TS stacked with Edge EZ, TS alone, Edge Evo alone, and DP. The only chip that had my truck shifting correctly was the DP. With the TS I think my u-joints where suffering. The power DP is also best with power, the SOTP dyno proved it great, alone with all my stuff flying out of the dashboard lol.
I flat out converted a TS chip user when he rode in my truck. Sealed the deal at the race track when I consistently beat him in E/T's and trap speed, and my truck is bigger and heavier than his. He's now running DP-Tuner with live tuning and won't go with anything else.
I went to the track last week. My truck is a CCLB on 36's, my buddies truck a EXSB on 35's. My fastest run was a 16.05@82mph, his fastest run that I know of was a 16.25@81.5mph. My injectors are my limiting factor(ab's suck!)!
I've ran both, and even though they both claim the same power gains, the difference in the DPtuner is amazing. Power comes on alot smoother, and it's just alot more drivable. I won't go back.
I have run both. The TS was good but the DP is a smoother better shifting, locking up and kicka$$ over the TS in the giddyup and go department too. What else do you need to know?
I just read the reviews and went with DP-Tuner. Why bother with re-inventing the wheel? Have you read any post where somebody has said "I ran DP-Tuner and brand X and I prefer brand X"?
Definitely go DP -- I've taken a couple PSD owners for rides in my truck and they suddenly want to know what all I've done to it. One guy was a D-max owner who subscribed to the "fact" that the D-max is faster than PSDs, and he just shook his head and said "I don't know, man -- I think you could take me!".
Thanks for the great input, sounds like DP is the favored. Sounds like TS has a problem with proper shift pressure control. I have the opportunity to get a TS for my truck for next to nothing, maybe that's y....I guess I'll start save'n my pennies for a DP.
Out of all the different settings you can get for the DP, which ones are the most used on a day to day. I mean do you need anything more than a good tow setting, an economy setting, and then one for fun? You could have 8 settings and really only use three most of the time, what's the most used?

If you can get a TS for next to nothing, get it. It is a good chip. The DP is just better shifting and made more power on the SOTP meter in mine. I use the 80econ setting the most on my DP.
