I had two 99 f550's and a 2000 Excursion all with 7.3's so I saw it for sale on ebay and bought it. I have since updated my trucks to 6.0's and no longer need the 7.3. It was good insurance,I find if I have a spare I'll never need it....and it worked.
Might want to hang on to it if you put 6.ohs in them
Really? Cus I think I just did... Ever ride in one with a tune... 400hp with a SCT and an intake/exhaust... Try that with a 7.3...
Man did you just hit a hornets nest! Actually I rode in one that had some kind of chip (this was before I knew anything about Ford diesels, not long ago) and it screamed. The guy that owned it didn't have any knowledge of diesels and had no guages or any other mods, just the chip. I imagine its sitting in a junk yard about now.

And I'll bet a 7.3 with 300,000 miles towed it there.
