There have been several definitions of Darksider over the years but it basically boils down to straying from the path that Ol' Henry laid down at the factory. You my friend, are a darksider.
You can further break things down as to how dark you are by how far you like to customize things, but basically there is the dark and there is the light. Original and tweaked and all points in between that make this such a wonderful hobby.
Do not ever feel bad about your powerplant. Your truck is gorgeous and a fineexample to your talents. Nicely done
Hey THANKS Bobby I really appreciate it. I'm very proud of my truck, I built it when I was 24 years old, it was the first frame off I ever did. I dont apologize for having customized it, I just wished I'd had a Ford engine at the time. BUT I would never apologize for having A/C, or power steering, or power disc brakes, or CD player or etc..... That's why Baskin Robbins makes 31 flavors something for every body!!!
Again, I'm not tryin to make anyone mad, I was just askin, I thought I had a pretty good idea. I had just never heard it in the terms used here?
Hey guys, I messed up that post. I'm still gettin the hang of this "qoute" stuff. I get so MAD at this thing sometimes I meant to tell you a story: I was at a show one time and an older man came over to me. He looked at my truck and said " You ruined a good Ford, puttin a chevy engine in it" I was alot younger and alot meaner then and it hit me the wrong way. I said I thought since it was my truck I figured I could put what I wanted in it?! I told him when he started buyin parts I'd start valueing his opinion! I just thought I'd put that in here, cause of the "other" post. I personally don't care what you have under the hood, I just want to see these old Ford trucks on the road!!!! I just love them!!!
Gee guys, and here I thought it was somebody that just loves cookies......
I think you are all on spot actually,
Jon
Does this mean there are no cookies? I have only done the dark mods to get to the cookies
Well that and the fact I like making something not designed for a particular vehicle not only fit and work but also look like it belongs there. Like the 4.9 Caddy motor I am just finishing up installing in a Fiero
The Darkside is strong here little one
Hey Truxx1956, whatever motor you got it's one sharp lookin ride. If you really want a Ford motor how bout building another truck??
You can tell the wife it's my fault.
My F-3 will be basically stock when it's finished, but you never know.
Now where is that 3 deuce manifold??

me too. Like I did with my '79 bronco 300 6. I have a 400 going into my 87 tbird, one way or another. And I have a 302 I want to put into a 94/95 Toyota Camry 2 door or 96-98 Buick Skylark 2 door, converted to rear wheel drive(my Saturn is too small). Sleeper, Baby!!!
So let me see...I have a 56 F100 BW with show-polished Corvette IFS and IRS, 18 inch forged aluminum wheels, suicide doors with 1-piece power windows, and an LS6 engine with a 4L60E trans. Does that make me a darksider??? :~)
Does it make any difference that it is "original" Ford red?
