Still wanting them cookies....I aint gonna settle on the fig newtons. Aint gonna do it, you can't make me. PLEASE, LET ME JUST HAVE SOME DANGED COOKIES!!!!!!!!!!! Hey, I think the CAT V-8, the aluminim OTR tanks, the 5x4 tranny set up, and the soon to be added 5" O.D. 9' mitred cut chrome stacks and the Freightliner 48" flat top sleeper I should be picking up in the next couple weekends and the soon to be added full tandem aluminum rear fenders, and the custom built (well, being built) running boards/battery boxes, should qualify the semi as a darksider. If not, how about the decision to lower it, and paint it black and have a mural added the back of the sleeper. Does that qualify? Come on, I just want the cookies. What do I have to do? COOKIES, COOKIES, COOKIES, COOKIES, COOKIES!!!!!!!!
Mine is a souped up Milliemium Falcon. Or the plans are atleast.
AXracer said it perfectl when he stated.
Restorer-is one who dislikes the other two.
I do not have the time nor patience for one who thinks there truck is special because they have fuel injection or a automatic. Henry Ford built them right, the looked cool and worked hard, if you do not have the talent to drive them as they were built drive a Focus.

Still using kerosene lanterns and have an outhouse also?
Well what is the point of driving something old with todays comforts, that takes all the fun from it.
I may not have power steering but I have arm muscle
I may not have disc brakes, but I have depht perception
I may not have EFI AOD, but that way I know when I'm tooo drunk to drive
I ma not have valve cover but thats the point
And no, my trucks don't parrell park themselves, BUT I still make them work daily somehow???, guess I'm just that talented.

I was born in a 55 F-350 express, and I learned to drive in the same. First car was a '53 F-350 flatbed dually. Current 55 semi is still all Ford, including the CAT V-8. Still the way Henry intended, but better (the L cab was ugly. looks better as a 55). My second car was a '60 Falcon. My third was a 53 F-100 I shared with my now deceased mother. Own a 57 Ford 850 series tractor with Ford add on bucket. Got a '53 F-750 fire truck. had to scrap a '54 F-350, 53 T-800, '54 F-750. Still have a 50 P-3 or P-5 (don't remember which) sitting in Nevada at my mom and dads (sorry, dads place, moms dead). Still have about a 53' trailer's worth of original Ford parts, some NOS, some used, some restorable, some junk. A few extra Y-blocks, some T-98's, a cab or two, and some doors. Through out my life, my family has owned (at one time) 23 Falcon, Comet, Fairlane (and similar) and 17 F-100 through F-350 trucks (most beautiful 5 acres I have ever seen. Drove moms 64 Futura 2 dr sport hard top to school, and the 59 ranchero, and the 55 F-350 express, and a 73 E-350 open road van, and a 64 2 dr sedan with 260 and 2 speed auto. Had a really rare 65 Falcon sedan my dad bought from some old lady. It had a Mustang 289 (factory ordered) with 3 speed auto, and the old lady left the vinyl on the seats and carpets. Car was really sweet. We drove a 58 Skyliner retractable hard top, that was owned by my fathers boss, on Sunday outings when I was little. any questions, or do you still think those of us that would like to personalize our trucks to make a statement about ourselves have no talent? I love Fords. Thing is, I like em all (if they're old enough). Guess, I actually like the other companies that built the parts for the manufacturer. Maybe Fisher Body Company, or maybe Good Year, or Firestone, or maybe Dana Corporation, Borg Warner, or maybe Philco, or GE. Some rigs are worth a concours restoration, but some rigs are so far gone that it would too expensive to restore them. At least they are all given a second chance at the long life Henry wanted, and not sent to the scrapper because we couldn't find the exact hose clamp or light bulb that Henry wanted in there. Perhaps, the $1600 I have invested in my 55 semi is a lot better than the $16000 I would of had to spend to make it right. Trying to enjoy it on a budget (got a wife and 3 little ones, and a house payment, insurance, food, utilities, etc.) gotta do what ya gotta do. Aint no sense in talking down to people with imagination, at least they're trying to do something other than give up and scrap it.

I like the styling of the old, but updated to my vision of what it would be like if it was built today, or at least recently. Even FMC did that when they built their 50th anniversary tributes.
I'd rather leave driving a horse and buggy to the Amish...
but that's just me.

My twist on this subject is, one who shops at the dump, at a wreckers or where ever they can find some derilect vehicle to scavange some parts and make them work.
Judging from some of the feed back I received (rep points) I have obviously offended some people with what I thought and intended to be a light hearted humorous post.
I apologize, and I certainly by no means was trying to belittle anyone for their passion of restoring vehicles to original. I think its a art and requires a great deal of skill and patience, Its just not what I choose to do.
Again, I’m sorry to those I’ve offended.
I'm not sure how these rep points work, but I sure hope the negitive ones don't have any impact on anything.
