That could be brakes too. My truck does the same thing. Its not really loud but its noticeable. It comes and goes with engine speed and braking. As well as when i hit a bump or something. I have brand new pads calipers, and lines up front becuase my right front caliper locked up. The sueak was there ever sense it locked up and now its worse with the new brakes and comes from both wheels.
Alright, me and my dad took the left hub somewhat apart this morning. We got to the axle shaft, just where you have to have that spiffy socket to get those spiffy looking nuts off. Not sure what we are looking for, just anything that obviously looks bad. But the axle shaft had some play in it, in the up and down motion, probably about 2 cm each way. Is this normal?

I think thats about right but im not completely sure. You can make a soket to get those nuts off out of a pice of PVC pipe. Just cut the notches out. Did it seem like the hub was luded up good?
there was grease in there, along with what i want to call little pieces of rust, but then again im pretty new to this so im not sure. i plan on taking the passenger side apart tomorrow morning and comparing.
your bearings could be the problem...jack the truck up and try to shake the tire.. there shouldnt be any movement....the axle shaft will have some play but that shouldnt be making any noise....the only thing that could be wrong wuld be yur bearings... or yur brake pads... soo just try and jack the truck up and try to see if the tire has play on the spindle first...
Alright, took passenger side apart about 5 mins ago. It seemed to have more grease than the driver side. Had the same amount of play in the axle shaft. So i guess i'll update again after this saturday when me and my dad can get the hole thing thorwn down.
Alright we replaced the hub bearings, inner and outer, even though they seemed fine we went ahead and did them since he had it all out. Thing is were pretty sure we know why my truck was making the noise....... A guy that lives down from us informed us that since the calipers are harden steel and the breaks a softer steel, which creates a vibration, and that give you your noise. Proplem is easly fix by just putting some duct tape on the back side of your break pads. Anyone else ever heard this? We did it when we put the new pads on, no more noise... but who knows exactly what it was now. Thanks for the help.
