Oil Guard Filters

I just got some oil filters from oil guard and they come with a plastic adapter piece. Do these filters really work as good as oem since they need an adapter to make them work? Im new to using these and heard everyone buys them from oilguard since they are cheap but now im kinda concerned if they will protect the motor just as good. any help would be great thanks

I have use the oil guard filter, they didn't have an adapter. the filter i seen with an adapter was a will fit filter from puralator I did not like it. if Oil guard change there filter, then I be going to wal mart for filters. good luck with the filter.

Based on other threads that I have read, I would not use the will fit filters on the 6.0. Others on this site and on the Dieselsite forum have had trouble with them. To much at risk to save a couple of bucks.

Oil Guard sells two different oil filters for the 6.0 the cheap "will fit" junk filters($11.00) and the more expensive OEM Racor filters ($37.75).

Use only OEM Racor filters in your truck, Do Not use "will fit" filters as they will damage your engine.

Here is a link to the 6.0 tech folder that shows the correct filters
http://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/54...ml#post4145955

You can buy OEM Racor filters in Motorcraft boxes at Wal Mart for $19.99 or in Fram boxes for $14.99. Also CSK Auto Parts sells the OEM Racor filters in Fram boxes ($19.99) and when they are on sale you can get them for $3.50 each.

Buy the OEM Racor fuel filters at your local IH dealer for $35.00
