Does anyone know if these fancy Deezee bed rails made out of diamond plate go over the plastic caps or do we remove them and install it? I'm confused lol..
I installed mine after the plastic caps were removed and Line-X applied over the rails. They used 'metal tape' to seal the holes from underneath prior to applying the Line-X.
Hmm.. I already have line-x.. Prob is I'm installing stacks.. I had 2" chrome bars attached to my bed rails.. Well the plastic caps are trashed, you just can't see it b/c it's trashed where my bars are installed.. Now that the stacks are going in I have to shift everything back and remove the bars which will show the trashed plastic caps..
Did you loose any height or anything? Those caps look pretty thick.. I'm wondering do I pay $200 to get factory ones, or do I spend $100 and buy those aluminum caps..
The caps are about an 1/8" thick. I just used stainless screws through the bed rails near the front and at the rear of the bed. I've walked on them and they have not deformed in any way, are easy to keep clean, have not dulled, and I would put them on again.
Some of the later pics in my gallery may show them.

Do you just have the sides and the tailgate cap? or did you buy the big piece for the front? that thing is almost $200 bux LOL
Kepler, how tight was the fit? I've got the Deezee caps and plan on having them sprayed with Line-x when I get my bed and toolbox sprayed. If I have them spray over the bed rails, and spray the Deezee caps will they still fit?
Storm, the Diamondplate caps are thicker than the plastic, not by much though.
Beerstalker, the bedrail caps fit just fine with the Line-X sprayed over the rail. The tailgate cap will need about an 1/8" trimmed off off of the inside edge to fit. That's the case with my truck and DeeZee caps.
After I go to the recycler, dry cleaners and buy some new dress shirts and shoes, I'll take and post pics for you guys.
Gotta go... be back in a few hours with those pics.
Me too. I want to completely get rid of the plastic on the bed rails and the tailgate. I was going to just have line-x sprayed over them, but the Line-x dealer was worried that the bed rail wouldn't hold up without something over them. That's why I picked up the DeeZee rail caps, and I plan on having them and my toolbox sprayed with black Line-x so everything matches.
The awesome thing is I guess a Line-X dealer just opened up about 10 minutes away, so now I won't have to drive 80 miles away to the one I was planning on going to.
The plastic rails were completely removed, metal tape applied from underneath the bed rails, then Line-X sprayed on the entire bed and over the rails and tailgate edge. I've not installed the tailgate cap because the Line-X is so thick that the cap must be trimmed to fit. I'm married so the Honey-Do list trumps the truck To-Do list.... every time!
