2003 escape starting problem

2003 escape starting problem
car does nothing when you try to crank it.power is present with the key in the acc position but loses all power when it is put in the run or start positionall that happens is the gauges jump up for a second please help any ideas would be helpfull. im ready to hit this thing with a hammer.

Don't get the hammer out yet. First thing check the Idle air control valve. A common problem that will lead to a non-start. You can clean but it is so easy and inexpensive to replace. A code scanner can tell you for sure if it is bad but I am guessing that it is a good place to start. Hope this helps.

I think you mean thet the starter isn't turning when the key is turned????
If so, check the cables going to it or the key switch may be bad or the battery may be too weak to turn it or the neutral select switch may be bad (It is in park). There's a bunch of things that it could be
