Escapes origin? Tributes origin?

Where have Escapes been/ currently made in what cities? (years?) Tributes made in same factories or Japan?

They started in 2001, and made in Kansas City Plant.

The Escape/Mariner/Tribute family are based off the Mazda 626 sedan platform. Most of the design engineering was done by Mazda and they also supply the 4 cylinder engine. Ford provides the V6 and the assembly plant outside Kansas City. No Tributes are made in Japan because it is only sold in North America.

so which engine will last longer? im going to say the mazda engine....

I dunno, the 4 cyl might have to work harder than the 6. I have 127,000 on our 6 cyl. and it runs the same as the day it was new. Ford's 3.0 OHC has been around a long time, as has the 2.5 before it, and it has a pretty good reputation.
