power delay?

Installing a new head unit Kenwood DDX-6019 in 2005 f-350. Is there a power source that starts after the wait for the glow plugs? I hate that the radio starts and then goes off when I start the truck. Or how about a power source that does not turn the radio off when starting? That would be better. Thanks for any help.

30 seconds long enough for the glow plugs? Only thing is, once it is started, there will be the 30 second wait again for the radio to come on.

that's strange... I posted a answer to this earlier and now it's gone... unless it just didn't post.

The Red with Green stripe on behind your fuse block or at your ignition harness is a true ignition that does not drop out during crank. You can hook your radio there.

Yes that does work but no power with the key in acc. Do you know of another source?

The wires that work with the key turned back is going to give you that delay. So that they don't rob power that's needed for cranking.

I have a Pioneer AVIC-D1 and I have worried about this as well. Do you think it's hard/bad on the HU?
