Over drive light blinking?
What does it mean when this light is blinking? I have a problem with my truck quiting when it hits small bumps that I've written about before. the other night I was riding down a dirt road hit some bumps and the truck almost quit, then when I started to go, it was like it was in nuetral but almost wanting to move. The OD light was flashing so, I turned it off and back on, it stopped flashing and went from there fine. What the heck is going on? Thanks for any help.

The flashing OD light means the computer has found a problem and stored a code in memory. You need someone with a Ford specific scan tool to read a transmission code. Most OBDII code readers will not read Ford transmission codes.

I read the codes when mine did it, got a 3-4 shift error, cleared the codes by unhooking the batteries, replaced the VSS sensor because it was cheap and listed as a possible cause by doing some searching on this site, and have since put 14,000 hard KM on the thing, 7+ towing.
