Hi all - the search is down, and so I will ask. I replaced (added...) a speedo cable today, but for the life of me can't seem to find the location on the tranny for the other end of the cable. See below for the truck specs in my sig, and I should have the C6 tranny. If anyone states otherwise please let me know why I am wrong (cause I may be...)
it goes on the transmission, on the drivers side on the tailshaft. If you have a 4WD, it goes on the drivers side of the output shaft of the transfer case.
[duh, I did not notice that it was for your truck in your sig. The speedo cable goes in the end of the transfer case.
Perfect! I found it on right by the output shaft on the TC...thank you! Can anyone tell me how it is routed? Right now I have mine coming out of the firewall and running down the frame rail...is that correct? Seems like it may be too short if it is not run correctly?
Just shove it in the hole, and route it away from anything sharp, or hot. Zip tie it to things that are stationary, and cushion the cable with something to keep it from getting damaged.
looks like I am missing the gear on the TC side. A quick check with BOTP shows nothing...is this going to be a junkyard part? Or is there a sponsor I can order it from? Maybe a dealer part?
NPD/Dennis Carpenter have the driven gears - you'll need to know or calculate the number of teeth as there are several different gears. Don't forget to change the o-ring seal for the cable while you're there - inexpensive. If the cable didn't come with the gear retainer clip, you'll need one of those too.

Awesome - thank you. I actually have a new oring and clip, but discovered I was missing the driven gear when I went to to hook up the new speedo cable!
Is there an easy way to calc the number of teeth? There has to be a formula...I have 4.10 rear diff, and I need to get my tire size - they are nothing special, probably 265's on stock steel rims.
