guys, i put a c6 out of 73 f-250 in my 66 slickside. the truck was a 3 on the tree. i connected the exisitng speedo cable to the new trans. and it seemed to fit well. however the needle bounced and emitted a pretty ugly noise until it snapped within the first 20 miles i drove.... which makes me think maybe the cable doesnt work with the trans? i dont know.
question is:
should the 66 manual speedo cable work with the 73 c-6?
if not will the automatci cable for a 66 work?
or, do i need to be looking for a cable out of a 73 and will that work with my custom cab speedo in my 66.
thanks a lot guys. trying to get the truck ready for the winter and order some parts today so i can tie up some loose ends this weekend... any help would be greatly appreciated.
