Actually, I explained the situation to the guy I bought it from and he was totally cool about it...I was relieved by the fact that he understood and he immediately offered up a refund and wished me good luck.
Actually thought I'd go with a Superchips. Input??
Just do a search for dp-tuners on this forum...just read the testimonials. There is none better...period (and no, I do not get a percentage of Jody's sales - though I wish I did ).

I dont have a DP but I did have a superchips. It was alright but when I compare it to the Cales tunes I have now, there is no comparison. From what I understand the DP and Cales tunes are almost the same. Only advantage of the superchips is being able to read some codes. Whatever way you decide to go get some gauges first.
.... Seems like the DP is the way to go. With a DP do you always have to send PCM in for flash ?
No, you can have Jody put up to 16 programs on the F5 chip, or you can get as few as one. You do not have to remove and ship him your PCM at all. You do have to look on top of your PCM and let him know what code of programming is in there(ie... XLT,XLM,PMT1,Pmt2). The only time you will have to send one back to Jody is to have additional tunes added to it. Jody does not consider the 7.3 as "dead technology" since it is not produced anymore (Bully Dog, Hypertech, and others do).
I've read this entire thread wanting to hear something good about Hypertech. I live about 2 blocks from their HQs. I usually use local companies (ship FedEx, use Autozone parts) for my local economy. I think I'm hearing stay away. I have been told that I might be able to get them to reflash my truck for $50.

I've had mine for over 6 yrs and can really say nothing bad about it
it calbrates my speedometer and reads codes
just a little pain to retune to tow bigger trailers
I bought it because truck was under warranty and could remove it easily when truck had to go in for repairs
i have a 6 pos bully dog chip that cost me about $500. am ditching that now while as we speak jody is shipping me his DP-Tuner that these guys rave about. and talk about customer service, jody called me at home after he left the shop and had supper with his family. I'd recommend the DP-Tuner myself and I'm not on his payroll either. And I too wish i got $$ for giving him props.
My Hypertech is 2 1/2 years old and works fine. Does s#$% when you change progarams, can't be done on the fly. That's about the only thing I don't like about it. Sounds like DP is the way to go. Of course nobody seems to mention Banks, probably because few want to dish out the money for thier systems. I'd like to be able to change settings on the fly.

banks may be ok but to me everything they have is overpriced
