I'm wondering, since we all are Ford truck nuts, just how long have you owned your present truck?
I bought my '56 in Dec 1976.The guy I bought it off of had painted it a horrible shade of green and powered it by a '61 292. It was in gray primer the following spring!
How 'bout you? When were you licky enough to find yours?

I aquired mine somewhere around 1997 or 98 (I think) I traded a 1949 Pontiac Silver Streak for it. I didnt start working on it very hard until 2003 or 04

Mine followed me home three years ago.

Time to work on it has dwindled the last couple years, but am making some forward progress. Hope to have moving under its own power in the Spring.

My Dad found my '56 in 1987. Wow, that makes me feel really old and slow.

Since June of 2006, but I first found the truck in early 2000. It had it's nose sticking out of a barn and was still in the hands of the original owner. Hadn't run it about 20 years.

My brother found mine in the spring of 2006 while he was working for a local farmer. It was sitting on his employer's neighbor's property. My brother later bought the truck from this neighbor but didn't have the place to tackle a project like this so he sold the truck to me for what he had into it. I hauled the truck home in June 2006.

I bought mine as a driver in November 2003. I found it in the Classic Car Trader Online. Drove 100 miles to see it. Drove it home.

Thumbs up

Hey I got mine in July of 1994. I am the second owner of it, I bought it from the original owner's widow, it had 45,000 miles on it when I bought it. It was a fuel truck for the tractors on a farm, and it never got off the farm!! So it was 45,000 miles on the FARM!! I had a guy who knew the truck and he came up to me at a car show and said, the picture I have of it before I worked on it, made it look better than it really was!! My truck was ROUGH!! All I can say is if you can find one higher up on the food chain than mine was DO IT!!! Spend a little more and get a good body on a truck!! Since then I have gotten several others, that are better shape than mine was. I can't wait to build them!! I'm just too busy with every else's junk! This is a good thread, I love to find out when and how each of arrived at one of the coolest trucks of all time!!

i got mine in 03 when my brother killed himself it was in pieces. He got it from my grandpa in 79 i think. He drove it when he wasent in jail. in 84 we did a ground up restro on it and got in in primer. He rolled it the day he toke it out for the first time. he was on his way up north to see his girlfriend. that was the last time it was driveing it was with him all thoughs years. The moter was rebuilt he got the inside painted.
then it sat till i got it. my nephew was made in the truck. i didnt want him to have it he's got drug and alchol problems. if he stratings out when i die or he deserves it.
i will give it to him. i just want to see the truck look nice agian. i have a pic of my grandpa with this truck when it was new and thats how i want to see it agian sorry for the punctuation and spelling

My wife bought mine for me about 4 years ago. It was sitting in front of a guys house with a 4 sale sign on it. She put a deposit on it and when I got there a couple hours later the guy said he had had 5 other offers. We paid $400. Cab is sound, bed was SHOT, front fenders were bashed in, and one head of the flat head 8 was sitting in the bed. Brought it home and it sat in my neighbors barn until about a year ago when I finally got serious about it. Right now the frame is stripped and waiting for me to sandblast and paint. My wife passed away 2 1/2 years ago, so what little time I get to spend on it is pretty therapeutic.

I bartered for mine in the winter of 04/05. my uncle had bought 3 to restore one and only used two. I just started seriously working on it labor day weekend. It didn't cost me anything and to date it still hasn't.
