Installing an Amp

Alright guy I have installed a ton of stereo systems in the past on a bunhc of different vehicles. I was looking at my 06 F150 Supercrew today trying to map out the route for the power cable and to tell you the truth it looks like a pain in the butt. I was wondering if any one has pic's from an amp install on this truck or have any good suggestions. Also where did you place your amp? I don't want to take the jack out of the truck so I'm thinking about putting it under the front passenger seat (not my favorite spot). THanks for the help guys!

Worst case scenario you can drill your own hole somewhere and use a grommet from the hardware store. Another path I have gone on some new vehicles is to into the inside of the fender(sometines there is a small hole somewhere up by the hinges) and from there you can usually find a path into the cab behind the kick pannel. This method can be a PITA too though. If you drill a hole make sure your path is clear on both sides. There are a lot of expensive things bolted to your firewall. I swear that they make it harder to install an amp every year.

There should be a fairly large grommet just to the left of the gas pedal. It is covered by interior padding, rip that pad circle off and you will see a round rubber grommet. Make a slit in it and run your wires thru.

i did a friends and i ran it inside the frame rail and then drilled a hole and put a grommet in. the wire comes in under the amp and loops back out into the amp, its al hidden under the caps. i dont have any pictures however

not sure about the newer models, but my 95, there are 2 grommets, more like plugs, its in the back corner of the cab if you crawl under the truck you can see it, about 3/4 inch long i cut a slit in that and the one inside and ran my power cable through there, ran it inside the frame rail from the battery.
