Differential Gasket

Ford informed me that there is no gasket for the aluminum cover just use a sealer of some type. Is this true, was a gasket used with the older stock cover???

I just use silicone. Some covers had gaskets others don't. The Ford grey stuff is really good but anything will work. Be sure it's sensor safe.

get the ford 7.3 diesel silicone. i gurantee it will never leak

Fel-pro makes a gasket for both the 10.25" and the 10.5" rears. Any of the local parts stores should have it and I know my local Autozone carries it.

That being said these guys are correct. A little bead of RTV will seal it up fine, and the grey Ford stuff is by far the best RTV I have ever used. It's pricey, but easily worth it IMO.
