Any thoughts on an intermittent proble where my 97 Power Stroke, just stops occasinally? It doesn't seem to matter warm or cold and it always re-starts instantly. Sometimes it just hiccups while driving an 'catches' again before I even need to turn the starter...
Your CPS is failing, also known as the CMP or CAMP. Very common failure on the 7.3 and very easy fix. Note: Part numbers are out of date. A new and better CPS is in use now.
My '99 is having the same problem. But, I don't get any DTC's after it dies. Still the CPS? I have had the factory replace the CPS once already and it had a DTC in it that time. Shouldn't it throw a DTC? Thanks for any help.

CPS will usually throw a code. If you have chaffed wires in your main engine wiring harness it will cause a stall that won't throw a code. If your still confused start a new post down in the 99-03 7.3 diesel forum and I'm sure we'll get you fixed up.
