Compression seems good. Between 90psi and 100psi on all 8.

FIXED!!!!! Well, almost. I decided to unbolt the exhaust even though it looks brand new. Started it up and it finally runs! I'll take it down to the exhaust shop on Monday and let them have a look at it.

THANKS for all the help!!

no doubt .... so its a clogged converter eh ?

I've been stumped by that before . You can tell right away by the tail pipe hissing instead of the normal v-8 rumble you hear .

I looked inside the front of the cat and I could see big chunks broken up. So I cut it off and the front half was all broken up inside and plugged solid. I empied out all I could from the front and then broke up the rest from the back and emptied it.

Only thing I can think of is someone tried gutting it from the front and gave up half way through. The whole exhaust system looks brand new with a magnaflow muffler.
Its going to the exhaust shop tomorrow to get the pipe I cut welded up.

I travelled a long way to get this truck, and I'll finally get to see how it drives tomorrow.

Thanks for the help.

sorry edit post, I posted without reading it all.

But here is a good test for next time. This will give you a basic Idea that the engine is mechanically sound. So, being that the engine is just a really big air pump. Disconnect the intake hose at the throttle body and cover the throttlebody with your hand, must be a good air seal, now with the ignition disabled have someone crank the engine, it should suck very hard on your hand, if not either suspect jumped timing chain or plugged exhauset. If exhaust is plugged it cant get the air out so none will come in, and you will get no suck on your hand. And if the timing chain is way out, the valve timing will be way out, and it will also no suck properly.

Try this on a engine that you know is good, and you can get a feel for how hard it will suck. I would not recommend this test on a Diesel engine, it might suck your whole body into the engine!! HE HE HE, well maybe not, but they suck very HARD!!!!!!!!!

Good luck
