Just wondering if any FTE members have a big complete wrecker. F-3 or bigger I am looking at one to build. So looking for ideas ? Rather it be a early 51-52 style. Finished trucks would be cool. Did not see one in the gallery.
Hey you guys--I haven't heard from ksmith203 lately!!! He must have a lot of work on that coe of his. Miss his blog on here when he is building his wrecker....it is cool. Kevin is a cool dude and will let you in on how to build a wrecker. Maybe cause it's football season or ???? COME ON KEVIN WRITE US!!!!! haha!!!! Bill
Hi Guys ! Well " Magic " I have built a big 1950 Ford/Holmes wrecker from the ground up. Its Big & Tuff. If you need some help i will be glad to help. Also if you have not already found out the guys in FTE are very helpful if you post your questions. My Ford wrecker is a dual winch, split boom, with outriggers. So a car or truck can be picked up from the side. Its got 2 large and 2 small winches on the rear rack. And a 18,000 lb. ramsey behind the front push bumper. Its a 5 speed granny with a 2 speed 3 ton rear. Its a work horse. This is my 3rd. big truck. And still enjoy driving all of them. This year as a winter project,I am looking at building a 1951 Ford School Bus.
O yea ! I just hung up on odd trucks. Also before you say it. I know you like to look. So I made a gallery for the wrecker. Look in the gallery under 1950 ford trucks. Its under the name of Old winch truck. You also might wanta take a look at my friend Bob's web site. He goes by " bobj49f2 " in FTE. He got a nice galley on old ford trucks also. Ever get down Houston, tx. we will love to have you stop by. Visitors are always welcome. We don't make much money, but we know how to spend it and have fun. GOOD LUCK with your project !! check my gallery !
Bob thats a nice 52 you found on ebay. Love to have it to add to my collection. But its a little far away. A lot closer to you. I think you need it in your collection. I am not sure yet,but I got my eyes on a 51 Ford school bus. For a winter project. Its very thoughtful for you to let the guys know about it though.
I am worried about Kevin -ksmith203. He hasn't answered my pms or emails.....I think some of you guys could write him and check up on him.......Doesn't seem like him to sell these trucks......Bill
