new ipr?

Well here is the situation, truck running like crap. Idles fine when I first start it up, then it runs really rough. I have tried two different cps from the dealer, changed the oil, new fuel filter, cleaned screen. Motor gets quiet like the injecters are not working, kind of back and forth like they are, then they are not. Pulled codes several different times when cel came on, p1211 hi/low, then next time it would be cps bad, whatever that code is. I have been reading on here for about a month trying to figure it out. Help me please, thanks

If the problem persists when the motor is warm...Pull the IPR & look at the O rings.....

I wonder about the IDM. Try swaping it out with a good one.

I will second for the IPR also dont rule out the IPS because I had a similar problem and i replaced the IPR orings and still had a little prob so I replaced the sensor and that took care of the rest of it.

Well I finally got a chance to work on my truck yesterday and good news. I got everything taken out of the way and my wires to the ipr was broke off of the plug. Fixed that and put it back together, went for a test drive and truck ran great. Needless to say saved some money. I want to thank everbody for the help, this is the best site!!!

crap, i missed this one, sorry couldnt open this link kept saying bad request.......i'm tickled you wanted my personal input, sorry i couldnt help this time, glad to here you got it done. were the ipr wires hard and cracked? long term oil and heat breaks the insulation down after time. mine had no insulation on the ends and was shorting at one point when i first got the truck. definatly double check the wires further back to be safe,
funny story- had a mushroom truck came in once for running poorly with similar description to yours. hooked up pulled oil codes as you did, pulled pids and test drove, could not duplicate, drove in circles around the dealer for over an hour. got mad and decided to take her for a long haul on the road, headed up route 1 (long straight road) and as luck would have it she started to get ignorant when i was a good 20 miles away. figures. icp was going from 300 to 1500 really fast, made a cool sin wave on the charts. ipr was going from 10% to full load just as fast. it was the first time i ever saw this reading. the truck would run ok then lose power as thogh somebody was hitting the brakes, then get quiet then just pop back to normal and puff of black smoke then act up again to the point it would even stall.
good thing to have happen while you are far from the dealer and left your phone on your tool box upon inspection the icp was ok and started screwing with the ipr,(fun on the side of the road with no flashlight or tools) i got enough light to view it and had to laugh at my self, the nut had fallen completly off the valve and the solonoid was walking back and forth on the shaft. the wires were hard and stiff from the hpop leak so they were keepin it from falling off the shaft. Use number 101 for duct tape-ipr nut replacement. got me back and slapped a new nut on-good as new
