94 explorer engine light
my engine light goes on and off when i go up and down hills.especially when its warmed up.i bought the truck a week ago "as is" from a car lot so im not getting any help from them!! also,i just replaced the thermostat,but the truck runs a little on the hot side.
any help with these problems? hopefully it will be a low cost fix!

No sense guessing. Run the self-tests (put "Ford EEC-IV self-test" into your favorite search engine and find a set of instructions that you like) and find out what trouble codes the computer is outputting.
How "hot" is a little on the hot side? Dash gauges aren't always real reliable as far as absolute temperature measurement.
