Got an SEL last weekend. Drives real nice. I also have a '09' F150 Super Crew Lariet. No issues with either one mechanically. The only issue is with the SYNCH system onthe Edge. It DON'T SYNCH. They have had it for two days and say if the next thing they try doesn't work they will order a completely new Synch module. But truth be known.....I love the little bugger. Fun to drive and good power for a V6. The Vista roof is great too. I am 6'3" and 280 and have no issues getting in and out at all. It ain't my F150 but it sure is nice.

My wife has an Edge. We picked it up the end of April 2007 and it currently has about 15,000 miles on it. We both love this vehicle alot. It drives great and is very comfortable. The only mechanical issue we've had is a leak from the Power Tranfer Unit (AWD) which seems to be a first year glitch. Otherwise it has been solid.

My wife has an 07 Edge. I do like the vehicle and the quality is far superior to the 05 Expedtion I just got rid of. It hasn't been totally perfect though.

We had a leaking front fluid-filled suspension mount that was replaced under warranty

We do have the dreaded headliner rattle, but it is out of warranty and was when it started

Mileage is lower than anyone here is posting. My wife averages about 17 in mixed driving. Saw 21 on the road at 75 once. It is AWD, so that is probably accounting for the difference.

Overall, nearly 2 years into the vehicle.....nice car. (however I do have to admit that the vista roof scares me in the case of an accident. Seems like shrapnel waiting to fly).

Bought the wife a 2009 Ford Edge SEL last weekend. So far it is a fabulous car. Average 22 mpg mixed and 26 mpg on a trip doing 65mph.

Hi everyone!!!

My oldest son is preparing to sell/trade a 2000 Celica GT, for an Edge.
He is looking at the SEL w/"Vista" roof. (Maybe a "Limited" if he gets a great deal!)

We're going out on Saturday to drive a couple of them.

Now, this young man is 28 and this will be a whole new experience for him, compared to the 'coffin' GT that he's driven for 9 years.

Would the Edge be a better platform for carrying sports equipment (soccer/football/baseball, etc.) or would the Explorer be a better buy??

My son is 'hooked' on the Edge's looks and he loves that "Vista" roof.

Depends on how much equipment he is carrying? I have had 4 sets of golf clubs and 4 guys in our Edge and traveled 3 hours to play golf. It he does need to carry a lot of stuff and not many people the 2nd row folds down as well as the front passengers seat, so you can carry some long stuff. Also, you can fit a folding card table flat on the floor behind the rear seat. Never thought it would go, but it fits fine, the rear cargo area is bigger then it looks.

I would never get another Edge with out the Vista roof. I love it!!!!

Nicest vehicle I have ever owned. I just had one for 2 yrs and the lease was up. Haven't gotten anything yet, but it really was a first class vehicle

Thumbs up

My uncle's mom got one a few months ago, a White Limited. Very nice Crossover. Possibly one of the best on the market. A LOT of people have them. Honestly I think they are the new Explorer in popularity. I sat in one and messed around with it at the dealer, because they don't care. Very nice to work with. It would be an excellent upgrade from the Mazda Tribute, especially with the Vista Roof. I love that thing. I would love to have one for myself. They are much better than the competition and bound to be a staple in Ford's portfolio.

Bought an 07 SEL plus? a week ago. Traded in my 05GT Mustang for comfort reasons on long trips. Pass seat wasn't too comfortable for the wife. She loves it and we kept the 99 Explorer for hauling purposes. Edge has options I'd never heard of before. lie o meter sez 21mpg mixed driving. Better than explorer, but not as good as Mustang, but too early to tell.

Hi V10man. I work in Oakville, Ontario at the Ford complex that builds them. I personally haven't bought one but many (employee's) have and they love them. I have had a chance to drive one for about a week. Long trip to NC (15 hours). Vary comfy ride all the way. The hole family found the ride to be enjoyable. The AWD is one of the best driving vehicles I have ever driven. In the middle of a heavy snow fall I had the oppertunity to drive one in an open lot. You just can't loose control of these things. I know you will be happy with your purchase.
