This is great. I have been on this board for awhile and have seen very few with first hand 'forced induction' experience. I am glad for the report and BTW, welcome to the board.
+ Good numbers
+ Its encouraging to see I am not the only one silly enough to attempt or desire major mods to an outdated truck/engine.
?-I notice that you are running 6.5psi, was this within the limits Vortech recommends? There info states 4-5psi?
?-Did you consider a standalone or interface system? IE: Megasquirt or Tweecer?
- Disappointing to hear that their info is not complete concerning the era of trucks that they sell kits for
i also had to change to 30 lb injectorsbecause evenwith the fmu it would run out of fuel at anything over 3500 . we did away with the fmu and then tuned the fuel curve through the chip . i feel very good about the afr at 11.5
So there was no other fuel mods needed following the 30lb'ers and Tune? I have been brainstorming about a project of my own and assumed that I would not only need the above mentioned items, but an upgraded pump or external booster pump (so I can continue using both in tank pumps) and possibly bigger lines and fuel rails? What about the FPR (fuel pressure regulator)? Without the FMU your just running a stock FPR, FRPP FPR or aftermarket?
-What are the limitations on stock fuel line and fuel rail size?
-Is the stock FPR up to task with tuning?
-Stock Fuel Pump/s?
Man, it would be cool to be able to smoke the tires on my 97 F-350 with 6" lift, and 37 Mickeys. I have Ceramic coated headers, big exhaust, no Cat, and a K&N filter, but Id still like a couple hundred more horse. ITs just a toy, so I dont care about mileage.

If I remember right, the s/c kit comes with upgraded fuel pumps and new regulator. Fuel lines etc stay stock.
Vortech460 could you PM me. I have a 96 F250 CC Short box Mass Air truck and I am looking into superchargers for it. I tried to PM you but the forum wouldn't let me for some reason.
yah for 69 highboy i wouldnt think that it would cause failure right away, but your engine being rebuilt would not be more than 25k miles away from what I have heard. I think just wait till your motor pukes and then get a new one and vortech that one. And thats all the diarrhea of the mouth I have for now.
