mine is now unbearable. 56,000 miles, 2004
problem is, to get anything oout of these at resale time, you will need to fix it. i think i will get mine fixed soon, will probably sell the truck to dad to get a new one, but need to fix it first i think
Ramb
Yeah if you don't get it fixed before you sell it to your dad instead of listenin to your cam phasers you'll be listenin to him bitch about the noisy truck you sold him. haha
I just took my 04 in today to get it fixed. I have the 75,000 mile power train warranty. I only have 44,000 on my truck and the noise was driving me crazy!
i have an 05 scab fx4 and i took mine in because i though i had developed an exhaust leak after a cat was replaced...i told the service man that it could be something else, ie: cam phaser. they checked it and said they could not find anything. i told them there is something and i would take the guy for a drive. well they ended up coming back out with another mechanic and they said its the CP's. he left my request open because i am at 35k, i am supposed to call today to get it fixed. Under warranty, thank god.
Bigtony4 did the fix it. I have the same problem I have a 75,000 mile limited powertrain warranty and was wondering if they fixed it under the warranty.
Another shady dealership! They told me that was normal noise! My 5.4L should sound like a deisel! They even told me that the cam phaser would only make noise when the truck is ice cold. I guess they didn't realize that I am a mechanic, at least until I began to curse them out!!! Time to call Ford!

Did you show them TSB #06-4-7? Did you compare the sound of your truck to a new one on the lot? I know your pain. I had to do some convincing to finally get mine fixed. I think I would try another dealership though.
