More specifically, does the V10 in my 2010 F250 have cam phasers?

Engine shop is trying to justify charging an extra $1000 to "make up for heads destroyed by cam phasers"

I have been through forums and parts diagrams and see no evidence of them, beyond the odd comment relating to engine noise....

Can anyone verify their inclusion or absence?

 

The V10 (2V or 3V) never got VVT thus never got cam phasers. There is a balance shaft but that is about all that is out of the norm. The 5.4l 3V was the only engine in a 2010 F250 that had VVT and cam phasers.

 

Thanks. Guess I should find another engine builder... Do the short blocks interchange?

 

The block will interchang but different years have diffrent piston dish so it can change your compression ratio
