Intermittent Wiper Blade settings

I have a 99 F-250 Super Duty with wiper problems. When I turn them on, they act like they are one setting off where they should be. If I go to fast, they run on slow, slow acts like fast intermittent, etc. When I cycle down to off position, they act like they are on the lowest intermittent setting. I have to cycle the switch to high and off several times to get them to go off.

It is not a constant issue, fairly frequent but not when I take it in to get looked at (as you would expect).

Any suggestions of what may be causing this and how to fix?

Hmmm, that's a new one. Is the control for yours on the dash or on the turn signal stick?

It is on the turn stick handle. The sequence is off, slow intermittent to fast intermittent, slow and fast.

Sounds like the innards are stripped - there's no electrical reason for that to happen - the simplest answer is the switch handle is stripped.
