I was turn left and herd a grinding noise from the front of my truck. I replaced my ball joints, axile seals last year. I assuming it might be the axle u joint or hub, but not sure what it might be. If anyone has any ideas please let me know your thoughts.
My last grinding while turning was the hub...good luck! if you do have to go that way, might be worth your while and do both, with an after market. I think I paid 350.00 each side OEM, some around here are talking manuals locking hubs for 250.00 each.
CHECK YOUR EXHAUST!!!! I spent two months going back and forth to dealership, specialists and all and I discovered what it was by a fluke. I was told front end parts, hubs, brakes, etc.
One day I was showing off the 5" exhaust pipe by putting my foot inside of it. I had about an inch of play from side to side and I heard a clank. I got under there and found out it was one of the exhaust hangers smacking up against a framerail. I made adjustments until I couldn't get any noise when it was shaking side to side. I went for a ride and almost cried when there was no more noise turning left. I would have sworn a paycheck that the grinding noise was coming from that front left wheel/hub area.
Go out and kick the exhaust pipe and swing it side to side. If you hear anything, try to find out where it is and adjust it.
I hope that's all the problem is, because it cost nothing to fix it.
Good Luck!
