I would really like to go to this auction. It's in Middle River, MN. I would go but I don't have enough time, enough money and enough trailers. Anyone living near NW MN has got to go, if nothing else just to tell us what the prices were for the Fords:
If someone can get me a deal on the complete bed for a 48 F-1 short bed I would be interested. If some one is going to this auction it would be interesting to see what some of this stuff goes for.
If I had the time, a bag of cash and was single......I'd be there fore sure....
An awseome auction but it`s too far away.
Thanks for the heads up though and I hope someone can get us a link to the auction company`s site for sales results.
Some of the bigger auction sites like BJ and Maccum(?) list their sales results but most don't. Once the auction is over their job is done. I sure would like to know what they get. All of the trucks they have listed on uPay start at $250, no matter the condition. I doubt if they will get that much for most of them. If you have too many of the same thing the prices usually stay relatively low. I would think the minimum would be $150, about scrap price. You never know with a auction though, maybe the old trucks will bring $500+.
I'm trying to figure out if I was at this place and didn't fully realize it. About 10 years ago I was up in Middle river and ended up buying an old generator and an old International truck from the 60s but with a good Cummins in it. The generator turned out to be junk but we did take the engine out of the truck and mated it with a different generator that still works. I believe the guys name was Vern Thygeson. He was eccentric to say the least and had stuff like you wouldn't believe up there but I only recall seeing a few cars. Another item I recall he had was a pile of brand new truck tires but each of them had about a two inch hole drilled into the sidewall. He had some story that they were military surplus and the government didn't want anyone using them. Exactly why he wanted them I guess we'll never know.
unfortunately, i don't have a trailer available. Otherwise, i could haul everybody's winnings to my house, until pick up. My wife would hate me, though. I still want the Lincoln capri.
