I drive a 99 ford ranger, stick, 3.0, 170,000 miles..It has just started, all summer long it was good now I have fog coming out of my ac vent. I thought my truck was asking for a disco ball and light show, it would supply the fog.
I took it to a nearby mechanic and I was told the heater core is bad.
I also noticed my radiator was bone dry after the mechanic filled it up. I filled it up again, it is leaking underneath..is this the same problem or a diffrent problem as well..?
No, it's probably one of the hoses ruptured where it's clamped on to the heater core rather than the heater core itself. If it's leaking inside the truck then it's probably the actual heater core itself gone bad.
Well it is leaking outside and underneath my truck. I hope I have an honest mechanic repair guy if it is just a hose and not the heater core itself then I'll have saved $500.00 bucks..How do I know if it is the new heater core inplace instead of just the hose and still charged $500.00?
