Sluggish Throttle Response

My '03 6.0 X has a very sluggish pedal. It takes about 1/4 pedal just to see the RPM's start to come up. Everything else seems mechanically sound. This is my first X (actually my first SD anything). Is this normal?????? Is there an adjustment for this?

When I drove a 6.0L I felt the same way. It takes a lot of pedal to get the thing moving. Welcome to turbo lag.

Try a tank of biodiesel B99, worked wonders for mine. Biodiesel is a solvent that's really good for your truck and will clean out any junk, deposits, carbon or anything that's bad for your fuel system. All you have to do is change your fuel filters after a full tank or two and your truck will love you for it. My truck starts much easier, can't tip the gas without the truck really wanting to go, the engine is much, much, quieter, and runs like it's brand new.

Checkout www.biodiesel.org to find a station near you.

I've been running B99 since the I bought it. Definately quiets it down and it's smoother; I'm just not used to such a sluggish pedal.

Ran dino diesel for the first half tank (200 mile trip back from where we bought it). That was actually worse.

Well, first run a full tank of b99, then run about two tanks of regular, it's what I plan on doing.

I've ordered some of the NSS (?) oil treatment to see if it might be some sort of 'sticktion' issue.

Aaron, it's the nature of the beast and fly by wire...

Have heard about a mod to change the signal from the throttle sensor to the pcm computer, but I didn't try it...

I got a tuner(SCT XCal is my favorite now) for all of them (the 02, the 03, and the 05 Ex) and it made for near instantaneous throttle response...

until then, if you need to get that fast start to merge into traffic try a mini power brake to hold your position with the brakes and give it a little throttle to boost and it will GO !!

Don't hold that boost any more than a second or two or it will wear on your torque convertor, etc...

but how else can these 8K beast get sub 2 second 60 foot times if they can't GO
