I feel like an idiot for this one. I was working on my truck a couple of weeks ago and I accidentally put my knee on the hose that runs from the radiator to the tank. snapped the fitting right off the radiator. I put some jb weld on it and it held until tonight. So what the right fix for this one?
oh no! you broke it again! thats not good, i hate when that happens, sorry to say but that nipple isnt fixable, a new radiator is in order
how is she runnin since the o-rings? did you get the other side done?
I was afraid of that. Guess i'll have yo order one and put some more jb on it until it arrives. Other than that its been running good. I havent had a chance to do the other bank yet though. I was hoping to get it done tomorrow. What I did get done though is the front locknuts. I was totally amazed how much differnce the new and right parts made. Almost all the play and all the drifting on the highway is gone. I also shimmed my carrier bearing down but im still getting some vibration. I went with 1inch because I had some tubing in the shop. I'll have to try an go with half inch.
I just found out that I can get the radiator and hoses from advanced tomorrow. I think this is my truck telling me I need to change the coolant. Its been a LONG time. Any suggestions Joe on something I can get tomorrow for coolant?
If you could thread it with a tap, you could get some white loc tite 567, put that on the threads and once it sets up if there is enough thread surface I think that you would be ok.
It's used, he wanted an eaton posi. I'm going to replace the clutches anyway. This winter my truck is coming apart for a bunch of mods. Hopefully it will be in the 400+HP range.
Oh man, almost 300 bucks for a new radiator. I think i'll give the pipe nipple a shot. I'll be sure to keep some jb in the glove box
You could try using a product called Marine Tech IIRC. It will fasten anything to anything......wel almost. I'll try to get a link for it. Kinda pricey but a lot less than a new rad.
