First off iam new to the board so hi everyone, its always cool to find a new info source.
i have a few quick questions nothing to complicated, The first would be what is the best timing to run for optium power?. The second is i have read that to install clifford headers you have to alter the alternator bracket, since i live in canada and would have to get the headers shipped to me. Iam woundering how much is envoled in the process and if anyone has pics of the before and after.
The last question is what size of electric fan should i be looking to run to keep truck cool (I'd prefere to run a push/pull fan) ?.
Those being the questions i guess you need the truck info to lol, i have a 1995 f150 4.9 fuel injected 4x4 5 spd
List of upgrades:
-k&n cold air intake
-Msd 8mm wire set
-msd coil
-flowmaster exhuiast kit
so far that is it engine wise all suggestions wecome thanks in advance for the help
Timing on EFI motors should be between 14 and 16*'s. Also, if you aren't planning major internal motor mods the stock EFI exhaust manifold flow pretty well.
May need other mods and depending on whether you have mass air flow sensor or speed density sensor, one (can't remember which) is not responsive to mods, the other is. Some have done well to have the stock manifolds worked at a machine shop.
95 should be a maf which respond fine to mods. Even the earlier speed density are ok as long as you don't get crazy with your cam. Any cam manufacturer can reccomend a good grind to work with the sd or others here have posted what's worked for them.
iam not to sure if it's a maf or sd what is the difference?. I would like to get a cam but do to the fact that iam a student without a check coming in well ya iam broke. i start working in jan so i just want to have a idea of where to put some money for good upgrades.
