How do I remove stuck fuel filter?
It still has a little leak. I am going to replace the Nr. 2 injactor line. Can this be the problem. I drove it to the service station and put some fuel in it. It ran ok to there. When I left there drove about three miles and it quit. I probably drove six miles all togather.
Do you think I could be sucking air? What if I cut and plugged the return line from Nr. 2 injector to the filter? Do you think that might help if I am sucking air? Think I may try that in the A. M. and see if that helps. If I can get it started then I could drive it home.
Thanks
Things to check would be:
1, if there is fuel in the filter, you can check this by cranking the engine over with the schrader valve open to see if fuel comes out.
2, if that checks out, then crack an injector line while cranking to see if feul squirts out. Be carefull here, theres about 2000 PSI of fuel pressure, so keep your hands (and the rest of yourself) clear from the fitting.
#1 will check if you are loosing fuel via air leak, and siphoning fuel back into the tank.
#2 will check if the FSS is working and allowing the IP to build enough pressure to pop the injectors.
Went back to van this AM and guess what? It was still there and had the wheels on it. LOL
I cut the return line from the Nr. 2 injector and the fuel filter and plugged both ends and it fired right up after about ten seconds of cranking.
My computer died just after checking your E-mail rhis morning David85. I am on my brothers computer to write this. Thanks for everything to all of you guys. I will let you know how the rest of things works out on the van.
Computers can be replaced, old 6.9ls can't.
I must still have problem. Its acting up just the same now. I will have to check more.
The computer fixed it's self. I don't know what I did but it is working now.
Maybe the Van will fix it's self also. LOL
