The reason companies would not buy the nicest truck at the utility level they desire is money. Why buy a fully loaded lariat that plows snow or has maximum payload for 35K when you can get one that does what you want for 25k. It's a business decision. Operator comfort is not a function of what the business can affort, it is however, a function of the manufacutrer that is chosen. It's job is to provide tool like qualities. The work truck is a tool, not a personal choice. Flattyres should be able to comfirm this.
This is true for my case. I choose the truck based on looks & comfort, not max payload. Unfortunatly, 40K later ,I have to figure out how I am going to get a plow on it.

I realize that, I wasnt referring to every company. I was refering to the companies that have 1 man that drive a $45k F250 and beat the brains out of it towing anything imaginable and using it like a $8k work truck. A work truck is a choice, I dont see how it isnt. Personally, I use my truck for work, but do not beat the brains out of it nor do I have a work truck. I use it to tow, etc. I will continue to buy nice vehicles to use as my work trucks. I sometimes am on the road for 4+ hrs towing for work and wouldnt want to sit on a bench seat, no tape player, etc...that was my point. I had to use an add-a-leaf in the rear for towing. So this option would be more useful than you think. Take a look at how many very nice trucks you see towing a trailer of mowers, construction equipment, etc...a lot. A dedicated work truck is a choice.
