early 99 with DP-tuner problems HELP!!
Ok so i read the old threads about different shifting even in stock mode... but i got bigger issues. Please help...
I got 113000 miles on my stock trans and it feels ok with the DP removed. When i have it installed... EVEN on stock mode it shifts different. And i KNOW everyone said this is because of the tuner containing an updated Ford stock program, so i guess thats explained. But on 80 econo it BANGS into 2nd gear as if the trans is slipping. Im scared its gonna blow the trans apart. It does this in 100 and 140 Smoke as well... just not as harsh. So i am not sure of it IS my trans goin or not. Any ideas??
ALSO my pedal is REALLLLLY touchy in any program other than stock. Its pretty much UNDRIVABLE. I have a 6" lift and it rides rough so it makes me a lil jumpy on the gas pedal which in turn makes me buck the hell out of the truck with the tuner on. Is this touchy pedal normal with anyone else? My buddy has an 01 with the same chip and his isnt nearly as bad. What can i do??

hhmmm... I noticed the pedal was much more responsive, but not to the point it caused any problems. I notice firmer shifts 2-3, but 1-2 still seems peanut-butter soft (I plan on fixing that with my TransGo Tugger when I get time). Are you sure you gave them the correct code off your PCM??

my truck used to shift hard to, but when i installed a bts valve body it realy helped out alot.as for your pedal mine is liked that to but only in the 120 and 140 but i dont think it is as bad as yours

Wow you guys work fast! Umm yea im sure the PCM code was right. Im thinking my trans may be in the way out. A few times the Overdrive light would flash on and off the whole way to work, then it wouldnt happen again. This happened like 4 times in 6 months. Is that a sign the trans is going? And do you think the throttle body will correct that pedal?
