I realize the AOD is not a popular transmission, but they can be built to survive well over 1000Hp. A little known fact about them is that they have one of the strongest geartrains for the size of the tranny. The real weakness is the lockup shaft.

The base version is rated for 300-375Hp and come with a lifetime waranty.

The AOD also has the widest ratio overdrive of any tranny that I know of: 33%, which should work nicely with the 300.

My F150 has it, and I love it. Each shift is quick and solid everytime, and engagement happens in less than half a second.

The only disadvantage, is that 3rd gear is locked, so it can bog down a little between 2nd and 3rd. Just my $0.02.
