Will the complete assemblies front&rear fit.Are the spring mounts the same distance apart.I'm guessing driveshafts are different. I'm thinking of this because I want 3.73gears and could get the disk brakes.
You will have to do the reverse shackle mod I believe. Also the wheels are a different bolt pattern. Ours are standard and the new ones are a metric pattern. What gears do you have now? 4.10 or 3.55
I have 4.10,imo the 3.73 is best for the best balance between performance & economy.
BTW wheels do swap I know this for a fact my wheels came off 05 dodge w/metric pattern. The only difference is some(not all) sd's have washered nuts. The actual bolt patterns are exactly the same metric just uses different standard of measurement. Old way was center to center of lugs, new metric method measure from outside edge of hole to outside edge of apposing hole. Now the back spacing is slightly deeper on stock wheels but all aftermarket are the same unless special order.Aftermarket wheels also come drilled for both styles of lug nuts, flat or shouldered.
the wheels won't fit. the SD are a 170mm (6.69") spacing and the OBS are 6.5" also the SD are hub centric and OBS are lug centric. The rear axle does use a different yoke on the axle which may be over come but the front axle uses different spring widths. Also one draw back to the SD front axle is it uses seal wheel bearing units. one set of these costs the same as a rear disc brake conversion of the OBS rear axle.
It is not a switch that I consider worth while. I like my 3.55 gears but I also don't tow much. And I don't think anybody made 3.73's for our trucks. I guess its up to you though.

say what? thats not possible. i was curious to see how far off the metric pattern was from OBS to NBS and the bolt studs dont even line up. are your wheel holes extra big or something?
As for wheel, mine are 8x170 off 05 dodge ,the fit perfect . I also have friend who put sd wheels on obs,he didn't run them because he didn't have flat washered nuts, but they fit right on.

from all the research I did before buying these wheels used was the only change was that the method of measurement changed maybe i'm wrong but when you measure obs wheels you come up with 8x165center to center new method measure outside to outside 8x170.It worked for me.
