Converting Chevy guy?
A co-worker of mine came to the house today to check out the new rig. He is a die hard Chevy guy and bought his 2003 Dmax 2 weeks after i bought my 03 6.0. He loves his Dmax and always bad mouths powerstrokes. Well after letting him take the new 08 for a ride today he said "this is without a doubt the nicest pickup truck I have ever driven." He commented on how nice the interior was(he said it was nicer than the Acura his wife just bought) and was impressed with the smoothness of the ride and the power the truck had. Then he asked if the dealer had any other Lariats on the lot for him to check out. The problem with most any die hard brand loyal person is they don't ever check out the competition in person. Even though I have owned all Ford trucks since 1987, I tested them all before I bought this one and I don't think there is a better truck on the road...... Not saying the others don't have their good points but for the total package the 08 Superduty is hard to beat.

An 08 SuperDuty is nicer then an 03 Chevy.
But I could say the same thing about an 08 Chevy vs. an 03 Ford. I had an 03 lb7 3/4 ton D/A - but your talking the very first D/A compared to Fords latest 08 - not sure we're talking apples to apples here.

ya chevy guy tried a new 6.4 here and it blew up on him in the first week.. needless to say he couldnt get out of his contract.. and i do believe he still isnt a ford guy.. its not good to get the first year of anything built.. and be the test subject.

I don't believe I said it was being compared to his 03 Chevy. What i said was he would never even have bothered to look at a Ford and now that he has seen this one in person it seemed that he might at least go look at one if and when he buys a new truck. I also never said he was converted I said maybe he could be. If you read the whole post what i was suggesting is that we..... meaning any of us that claim not to be brand loyal but actually are, never give ourselves a fair chance to compare trucks because we do not usually check the other brands and if we would be it a Ford Chevy or Dodge maybe we would find we liked something else better. If we did this then we would be comparing apples to apples now wouldn't we?

An 08 ford is also nicer than an 08 GM, I dont think the new GMs even compare in the interior area. Plus they feel small, feels like your driving a toyota.

Yeah good point 69cj i wish everyone said that instead of fords suck and chevs are aweosome but i agree the 08s are nice

I refuse to be like sheep and told how to act and what to buy ! I did my research on all p/u's in the class I wanted and then oreder the one I wanted . I do not need a mag/tv/or other telling me what I need to do or buy .This way I can blame myself for a bad choice or tell myself how smart it was on a good choice.
